CALIFORNIA BARRIER REQUIREMENTS


IF BARRIER REQUIREMENTS DO NOT PASS CITY INSPECTIONS, THIS WILL DELAY THE COMPLETION OF YOUR POOL.

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS A SUMMARY OF THE INSPECTION AND BARRIER REQUIREMENTS FOR YOUR AREA. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ALL OF THE CITY INSPECTIONS AND BARRIER REQUIREMENTS MUST BE COMPLETED IN ACCORDANCE TO YOUR INDIVIDUAL CITY CODES FOR US TO COMPLETE YOUR POOL. THERE ARE CERTAIN SAFETY REQUIREMENTS SUCH AS SPRINGS ON GATES, LOCKS ON YOUR POOL ACCESS WINDOWS, DOOR CLOSURES, ETC. THAT ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

ONCE Paradise Pools™ RECEIVES CONFIRMATION THAT THESE SAFETY MEASURES AND BARRIER REQUIREMENTS HA VE BEEN MET, WE WILL BE ABLE TO CALL THE CITY/COUNTY FOR A FINAL INSPECTION IN ORDER THAT WE MAY COMPLETE YOUR POOL.

Paradise Pools™ notes under section 8.52.010 & section 8.52.020 titled "Private Swimming Pools", states that a barrier is defined as any material or assembly which restricts access by children to a body of water. Fences, gates, walls, or the exterior walls of a building, or any combination thereof are to be considered as part of a barrier to comply with local codes. (All gates, doors, or other accesses through the barrier shall be self-closing and self-latching / or alarmed per city code) by owner. Tempered windows per bids and codes by owner.

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA

Perimeter Fence 5' above grade measured from outside barrier
Interior Fencing 5' height, self closing and latching, and openings in fence must not exceed 2 12"
Gates Self closing and latching; must open outward (away from pool). Latch @ 54" above grade
DoorsMust be self closing and latching or door alarmed. Alarms must be @ 54" above floor
WindowsWindows may need to be tempered.
